‘Back Burner’ Relationships with Exes are Rising During Pandemic

Having sex with an ex puts people in a bad mood. Researchers from the University of Oklahoma say keeping former partners on the “back burner” in the hopes of keeping them around for fun leads to negative feelings about the other person, and yourself. During the pandemic, there was a rise in people reconnecting with their ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends.The research found that the negativity partners feel is especially pronounced when the person is currently in a committed relationship but decides to get back in touch with a former partner. At least 62 percent of study participants are keeping someone on the “back burner” just in case, even though 93 percent of people claim their relationship is exclusive. Half of the “back burner” participants admit to having at least one former partner waiting on stand-by. When it comes to sex with an ex, women are actually more likely to go down that road than men. In fact, 54 percent of women have had sex with a former partner, according to a survey. Just 44 percent of men said the same.

Parents Are Forging Birthday For Kids... For COVID Vaxx

Some parents are lying about their children's age so they can get the COVID vaccine. Pharmacists have notice that parents are lying about their kid’s age because they are worried about sending their kids back to school unvaccinated. For adults, pharmacists and doctors are able to verify the birth date with an ID but it’s much harder for kids. Right now the vaccine is only approved for kids 12 and older but experts believe the vaccine will be available for children under 12 within the coming months.

Can 'Self-Love' Boost Your Immune System and Fight COVID?

When Covid first started causing chaos, Google searches for “can masurbation boost immunity” went wild as people searched for ways to protect themselves. Unfortunately, touching oneself will not be the difference between catching Covid and not, but a specialist in hormone therapy suggests that indulging in some self-love might be able to strengthen your body's natural defenses. She said: “Masturbation can produce the right environment for a strengthened immune system.” A small but promising study of 11 men, who were awkwardly told to ‘perform some self-love’ while researchers took blood tests, found that masturbation caused a temporary spike in immune cells, including killer cells that fight viruses. The effect lasted for around 45 minutes after the happy ending. A professor of public health at New Mexico State University said the size of the study was “not good enough” to be reliable. Regardless, self-love in general helps you relax, reduces stress, elevates mood and helps you sleep better, all of which could arguably be key for keeping your immunity at its prime.

Fauci Defends New CDC Mask Guidance For The Vaccinated: "You Are Encroaching" on Individual Rights

Dr Anthony Fauci is warning of “some pain and suffering in the future” as coronavirus cases continue to rise due to the delta variant but said that he does not see the need for new lockdowns. Fauci said that cases are spiking because only 60% of Americans are fully vaccinated and he was then asked about some Republican governors, including Arizona's Doug Ducey and Florida's Ron DeSantis, who argued that it impedes individuals' rights to not allow them to make their own decisions about getting the vaccine. He replied “the fact is, if you get infected, even if you are without symptoms, you very well may infect another person who may be vulnerable, who may get seriously ill. “ Fauci added “So in essence, you are encroaching on their individual rights because you are making them vulnerable, so you could argue that situation both ways.”

OLYMPICS: Simone Biles Pulls Out of 2 More Finals in Tokyo

Simone Biles pulled out of Sunday's event finals for both vault and uneven bars while she still focuses on her mental health. She also opted to skip the floor exercise. She removed herself from the competition during the team finals on Tuesday and sat out Thursday’s all-around final as well. Biles said on social media on Friday that she's dealing with what is defined as the “twisties,” the sudden inability to feel comfortable while twisting in midair. Biles said she's battled the issue before, but typically only when it comes to vault and floor exercise. Biles now only has one more event she might compete in, the balance beam. USA Gymnastics has not said whether she will take part in that competition on Tuesday or not. Meanwhile, American MyKayla Skinner won the silver in the vault after she replaced Biles in the competition. Brazilian Rebeca Andrade won the gold and South Korea's Yeo Seojeong the bronze. USA Gymnastics says Biles will continue to be evaluated daily to determine her potential readiness for future competitions.

NHL Player's Wife Accuses Him of Throwing Games

The wife of a star NHL player has accused her husband on social media of betting on his own games and even throwing them. Anna Kane made the accusations against Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks in a series of Instagram posts. Kane, who has a history of gambling problems, denied the allegations on Sunday. One of his wife’s bigger accusations were, “How does the NHL let a compulsive gambling addict still play when he's obviously throwing games with bookies to win money? Hmm, maybe someone needs to address this.” Another bigger accusation she said was, Can someone ask (NHL Commissioner) Gary Bettman how they let a player gamble on his own games? Bet and win with bookies on his own games?" Kane posted on twitter saying, “I have NEVER gambled/bet on Hockey, NEVER gambled/bet on a Sharks game, NEVER gambled/bet on any of my games and NEVER thrown a hockey game.” His wife's posts are not available, but screen shots were going around. The NHL says it has launched an investigation and Kane said Sunday he'll cooperate with it. The Sharks announced their support of the investigation. Anna Kane says her husband is a gambling addict whose addiction has made life "hell" for her and their young daughter. Earlier this year, Evander Kane filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing $10.2 million in assets and $26.8 million in liabilities. In 2019, a Vegas hotel sued him over $500,000 in unpaid gambling debts, though the suit was dropped last year.
